Hi my Stampin’ Friends,
have you ever had a crafting “wish list” and never got around to purchasing something you really liked? Well, that is what has happened to me. I have had my eye on the Stamp Set called “Half Full” for a long time, would you believe last year (2107), as it was in the Stampin’ Up! Catalogue then.
There was always something else in the Catalogue though that I wanted more, however, I added it to my last order and now I can finally show you what I have made with it.
So today’s card is a really easy design, as I do love easy. I love fancy fold cards, but sometimes its just great to get back to the old styles of paper craft. I wouldn’t call my card “boring”, in fact its very elegant in its design, but you won’t need much more than paper, ink and a stamp set, with just a very small piece of co-ordinating ribbon.
I can think of many family and friends that this set would be perfect for. There are 10 stamps in this set and it even has christmas sentiments. I mean “who doesn’t drink wine!”
Over the next few weeks I shall be making more projects with this set and will be sharing them with you. I can’t wait to start crafting.
As I work in the NHS I don’t have too much time for crafting and much of it is done on weekends and Mondays.
So to make this elegant card you will need a piece of Merry Merlot Cardstock (this is such a beautiful colour, and of course, there is wine called “Merry Merlot” so how perfect is that)? The Very Vanilla Cardstock tones beautifully with this colour and I have added a small piece of Designer Paper called “Tranquil Textures”. All the papers in this pack add style to any project and I love the colours included in this pack which are Balmy Blue, Crumb Cake, Fresh Fig, Mint Macaron, Night of Navy, Soft Sea Foam and Tranquil Tide.
I used my Tuxedo Black Memento Stamp Pad to stamp the sentiment “wine improves with age, we improve with wine!” Then once it had dried for a couple of minutes I used my Stampin’ Blends, the best colours I had to tone were Cherry Cobbler, the light and dark shades.
I used the stamp with the six wine glasses and stamped off twice before stamping down onto my piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock. I kept stamping until I had four rows of them on the right hand side. As you can see I coloured two of the wine glasses using my Cherry Cobbler, light and dark markers. I felt this offset the colour of the grapes on the left hand side and added an “equal quality” (known as juxtaposition), giving a very pleasing design. I really LOVE this Stamp Set and should have purchased it long before now.
I used a very small piece of the 3/8″ Berry Burst Mini Ruffled Ribbon. I love this ruffled ribbon, its absolutely gorgeous and I already have it in three of the colours, the others I have being Lemon Lime Twist and Powder Pink. I must get me the Tranquil Tide and Fresh Fig colours soon, they are amazing added to any project.
I really love these colours together, they do have the “WOW FACTOR”.
