Artist Trading Cards for Craft Day in Milton Keynes

Hi my Stampin’ Friends,

Apologies for sending this post out again, but I had forgotten to include the photos.

today I would like to share the Artist Trading Cards that I made for my recent craft day I attended in Milton Keynes.  This was for Demonstrators  and attendance was amazing.  It was great to meet other like minded crafters and spend some quality crafting time together, sharing ideas and exchanging projects. My swaps were very well received and I exchanged them for five completely different projects that were very inspirational.

The swaps that I created used the Rooted In Nature Stamp Set and Natures Roots dies and are featured in the main Stampin’ Up Catalogue on Pages 148, 149, 177 and 194.  My theme was to create a project using an embossing folder.  As I am addicted to making these little Artist Trading Cards at the moment I worked out a design using as many elements from the Stamp Set and dies.  The Subtle 3D Embossing Folder on Page 199 seemed the perfect choice.

I used two pieces of Cardstock, one in Petal Pink and one in Very Vanilla to make them which measure 3 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ (8.9 x 6.4 cm).  Artist Trading Cards are always made to these measurements.

Firstly I stamped the Petal Pink Card with the very large Birch Stamp using Crumb Cake ink, choosing an A4 sized piece so that I wasn’t stamping small pieces of card, making more work for myself.  Then I cut my pieces to the measurements above.  Using the Subtle 3D embossing folder I ran it through my Big Shot to get the subtle image.  I glued the Very Vanilla Card to the back of the Petal Pink piece and sponged Merry Merlot over the front edges of the cards.

Using Very Vanilla Cardstock I stamped all my tree, sentiment and leaf images using Petal Pink, Calypso Coral, Pear Pizzazz and Merry Merlot inks and die cut them using the Nature’s Roots dies.  I glued them all down onto the front using dimensionals for the leaves, adding some linen thread tied in a bow.  To give extra sparkle I glued some Iridescent Sequins.

I did stamp the sentiments in different coloured inks of Calypso Coral, Cazun Craze and Merry Merlot and chopped them up so that I could mix the colours up on each trading card.

I am very pleased with the finished design and can’t wait to share them with my crafty friends.  Of course, it wouldn’t be right if I didn’t make a box for them all to go in.  You might remember that I made one of these boxes a couple of weeks ago.  However, this time I stamped my own design of Designer Paper so that it would blend in with the colours I had used on my cards.

Its very therapeutic making your own Designer Paper using just Stamps, ink and Card.  Here is a video that I shared a couple of years ago of how easy it is, along with my video of how to make the box.  I hope you enjoyed my projects today.  Thanks you so much for watching.

I had a great day crafting with projects designed by the lovely Michelle Last, a Stampin’ Up Demonstrator called The Pinkies. We were provided with everything needed to make 3 projects. It was great fun. I thoroughly enjoyed the day and we also had a raffle where we could win Stampin’ Up products. I purchased quite a few raffle tickets and was extremely lucky to win the Joy of Giving Gift Tag Kit.

If you would love to join as a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator to be included in our Stamping Events, I would be pleased to welcome you as part of the Team. Just click on the link in the side description bar of this post.

Should you need any crafting supplies I would be delighted if you could use my online Stampin’ Up Shop.  It really helps me to keep bringing you more projects and is very much appreciated.

Happy Crafting WITH LOVE from SANDRA xx
