Gorgeous 6 x 6″ cards made with Cake Soiree Bundle (Stampin’ Up!)

Hi my Stampin’ Friends,

today I have been making some beautiful cards with the Cake Soiree bundle of products. There is a beautiful Stamp Set that comes in two Stamp Cases, along with matching dies and beautiful Designer Papers. However, the Designer Papers were retired a while ago, but the Stamp Set and dies carried over to the end of May 2019! So, not long now and this set will go completely. Such a shame, as it really is special.

I haven’t played with this set nearly enough, but I shall not be parting with it even when it retires. It is far to wonderful for that to happen.

Anyway, let’s make some cards. My first card was made using Pool Party Card stock cut at 12 x 6″, scored on the long side at 6″ and folded in half. Using one of the floral images from the Cake Soiree Stamp Set I used my Pool Party ink pad to stamp the flowers along the right hand edge of the card. I also added some Wink of Stella to these images to give them a shimmery look. So, so pretty!

I added a small piece of Designer Paper cut at 6 x 3″, and along the short edge of each side I added some silver edged ribbon. It really sets the card off!

I stamped the cake image onto a piece of Shimmery White Cardstock using Black Memento Ink. This is perfect for adding some water colour. I water coloured the image using a combination of Highland Heather, Pool Party and Old Olive Ink Pads and my Aqua Painters filled with a little water.

After leaving my design to dry for a few minutes I die cut it using the matching dies for this stamp set, also die cutting the cake stand from silver foiled card, along with a few leaves die cut from Old Olive Card stock.

It didn’t take me long to layer my die cuts and stamped images on Stampin’ Dimensionals and tuck my green leaves underneath for extra appeal, finishing it off with the sentiment “Celebrate” die cut using the new Rectangle Stitched dies.

Above is a photo of the inside of my card layered with Pool Party, Silver Foil and Whisper White Card stock. I do love a card to be properly finished, don’t you?

The second card was made using the same dimensions listed below and Blushing Bride Card stock, layered with Silver Foil and a piece of the Designer Series Paper to create a simple card.

One of the oval stitched shaped dies to add my sentiment in Calypso Coral Ink and layered on a piece of Berry Burst Card stock with the same silver edged ribbon also in matching Berry Burst. Simple card but extremely elegant. Who wouldn’t want to receive this beautiful card?
