Handmade Card using “Wishing You Well”

Hi my Stampin’ Friends,

I recently had the need to send a “get well card” and a “sympathy card” and I had spotted in the new Autumn/Winter Stampin” Up! Catalogue there was a stamp set called “Wishing You Well“.  This is such a beautiful Stamp Set.

This had all the features that I needed in a stamp set, as it is extremely tasteful in the design of the flowers and the sentiments cover, get well, sympathy and seasons greetings.  Plus the added bonus that the floral sprays when stamped show a background silhouette.

The bow stamp completely fascinated me in that it stamps to look like a tied bow with a silky looking feel, offering light and dark background shades.  I hope you understand what I am trying to say.  I love the stamp that adds a “scattering of blossom flowers”.

I made three different designs using this set and today I really wanted to make a video so I could show you what I mean about this set.  It looks like such a simple set in the catalogue, but it truly isn’t, its so much more.

My Card Base uses a piece of THICK Whisper White Cardstock.  Then I used a piece of Whisper White and using Balmy Blue Ink I stamped off twice using the Bow Stamp and then stamped the design on the right hand side until I had three rows of them.

I hand stamped the circular floral design using Lemon Lime Twist/Garden Green Ink and stamped the sentiment through the design using Pacific Point/Rich Razzleberry Inks.  I used a 2 1/4″ circle punch to cut the design out.

I hand stamped another bow using full strength ink onto a scrap piece of Whisper White card and fussy cut it using my scissors.  I wound some Silver/Rose Metallic Twine around three fingers about 5 times and stuck it down to my card using some glue.  I added my bow on top and painted it with my “Wink of Stella” to add sparkle and sheen.  I used a pearl/silver rosebud to the middle of the bow for added dimension.

I hope you enjoy my video that shows how I made one of these cards and how beautiful they are.  I have used three totally different coloured designs and am extremely pleased with all of them.  Lets face it a card doesn’t have to be “all whistles and bells”, does it!  There is a lot to be said for the simple!

I shall add the measurements to the bottom of this blog post and hope that you will come back and visit me again very soon.
