Handmade Card using “Beautiful You”

Hi my Stampin’ Friends,

I recently had to say goodbye to a lovely colleague at work.  She was leaving for what I would call “better things to come”.  I needed the right Stamp Set so after searching through my crafty products I knew that the “Beautiful You” Stamp Set by Stampin’ Up was PERFECT.  It had the right images and sentiments to express what I needed to say.

Its such a funny thing that happened to me as when I gave her my farewell gifts, the first thing she said to me was.  “Oh, have you made me some of your lovely crafting projects”.  I had to admit that whilst I had made the Card and Gift Tag, I had just not had time.  She told me she was so thrilled to receive my handmade gifts and treasures them and tells all her friends and colleagues about them.  You can imagine this made me feel special to know that my projects are loved by so many.  Anyway to move on with my greeting.

Today I have cut my card on the “hot dog” length, which is 11 1/2″ by 4 1/8″, making good use of one piece of A4 cardstock.  That means I can get make two cards from one sheet, perfect!  Score on the long side at 5 3/4″ and fold, burnishing with your bone folder.

As my friend loves the colour turquoise, I used Bermuda Bay for my card base.  To co-ordinate with this I used a piece of Tranquil Textures DSP (cut at 3 7/8″ x 5 1/2″) as it includes the colours, balmy blue, fresh fig, mint macaron, night of navy, soft sea foam and tranquil tide.  All of these colours go with Bermuda Bay and provide a really lovely colour combination.  I adhered this piece to the front of the card base.

I cut two pieces of cardstock using my Layering Squares Framelits Dies, cutting one in Bermuda Bay and the other in Whisper White.  Using Black Memento Ink I stamped the image of the lady, allowing it to dry for a couple of minutes before colouring it in with my Stampin’ Write Coloured Markers.  The sentiment was stamped onto a small piece of Whisper White cardstock measuring approximately 1″ x 3 1/2″.

Such a simple card to put together but expressed what I wanted to say.  I also stamped the inside of my card, as you know that I always love to do that.  As you can see in my photograph I also stamped some images onto my envelope so adding a final touch.  I hope you like my project today.

All of these products are available to purchase from my online store and I would be so thrilled if you could shop with me.

Happy Crafting WITH LOVE from Sandra xx
