Handmade Palm Trees (to hold Coconut!)

Hi my Stampin’ Friends,

I truly hope that you are all well and keeping cool in this extremely hot weather we have been experiencing, although it is so great to have a decent summer this year.  It has been so hot for crafting and I have had to keep a fan going on my desk to keep me cool whilst creating fun summer projects.

The Tropical Chic Bundle reminds me of holidays with palm trees (especially the one I enjoyed a couple of weeks ago) and that was my inspiration to create a gift box palm tree to hold (can you guess, I am sure you can!) (a Bounty Chocolate Bar, of course!).  My favourite is the dark chocolate one, as I am allergic to too much milk chocolate.  You may remember I teased you all with a sneak peak of my trees, a couple of weeks ago as shown in the above photo.

They are so easy to make, the only difficult part is twisting the leaves in the right direction to create that “palm tree” look.  Still not difficult though, and especially easy using the Tropical Thinlit dies.  You can very easily stamp them out using any one of the Stampin’ Up Classic Ink pads (in any shade of green) with the Tropical Chic Stamp Set and die cut them out using a Big Shot.   Or for even more speed just die cut the leaves using any shade of Stampin’ Up green cardstock.  (I used Garden Green for mine).

These can easily be adapted to hold any length or size of chocolate bar, but you will have to resize the measurements yourself in this case.  Don’t despair, here is how I made these genius boxes and how you can create them too.

Measurements

Crumb Cake Cardstock cut at 8 x 5 1/4″ (I stamped mine with Crumb Cake Ink using one of the stamps from the Tropical Chic Stamp Set)

score on the long side at 1/2″, 1 1/2″, and 7″.

score on the short side at 1 3/8″, 2 3/8″, 3 3/4″ and 4 3/4″.

Fold and burnish. Die Cut the leaves from the Tropical Thinlit dies, you will need 8 or 9 of them.

If you need any crafting supplies I would be so grateful for your business in my Online Shop.  It truly helps me to continue crafting and inspiring you with my projects and videos.  By the way, did you know that until the 31st July if you “JOIN” you can choose the Regals Collection Ink Pads for FREE (10 of them).  Its a great way to start crafting.
