Hi my Stampin’ Friends,
a magical mermaid Card perfect for my little niece. She loves mermaids and this will have pride of place in her bedroom, I am certain. I love the under water stamps that feature in this Stampin’ Up! Magical Mermaid set which together with ink and paper mean that before too long all the work has been done for me. Good news for a busy person like me. I used Soft Sky Cardstock to represent the colour of the water and stamped the sand and shell image using Sahara Sand Classic Ink and Wild Wasabi Ink for the reeds.
Using a piece of Water colour card I silver embossed using Stampin’ Up Silver Emboss Powder and my Versamark Pad and then heat set it with the heat tool. I then used my Stampin’ Up Classic Ink Pads to colour all the details in using Rich Razzleberry, Soft Sky and Perfect Plum. Her hair had to be golden so I used Daffodil Delight Classic Ink Pad for that.
Stampin’ Up’s Iridescent Sequin Assortment were perfect to create sparkle and shimmer on my water, along with more heat embossing using the splodgy image in the Magical Mermaid Stamp Set. My sentiment “have a magical Birthday” was also silver heat embossed to link with the card front. Below is a close up photo so you can see it all in more detail. I also added Stampin’ Up! Clear Wink of Stella to my mermaid for that extra sparkle!!
I used Rich Razzleberry Cardstock for the Card Base which is just half a sheet of A4. On the inside of the Card I added a piece of Whisper White onto which I stamped the sentiment “mermaid kisses and starfish wishes”, so cute, don’t you think? I fussy cut my mermaid out so I could use my Stampin’ dimensionals to pop it up on my card for extra dimension!
