Hi my Stampin’ Friends,
did you know that you can make a beautiful 3D magnolia flower using the Good Morning Magnolia Bundle by Stampin’ Up! Its so easy to create this large flower and all you need to make one are the dies plus a balloon punch.
To make the flower you punch out 5 balloon pieces in Petal Pink card stock, then one large and two medium flowers from the Magnolia Die Set, along with two stamens cut in So Saffron card stock. I sponged all the edges of the flower pieces using a Stampin’ Up! Sponge Dauber and some Petal Pink Ink.
It is so easy to layer them up on each using a 1 1/2″ circle punched also in Petal Pink card stock. Start with the 5 balloon punched pieces using wet glue or a glue gun. I found it worked perfectly with my liquid glue. I added a mini dimensional to the underside of the largest stamen before placing it on top of the finished flower, adding a gold faceted gem for some bling!!
These can be used to decorate gift bags or boxes and are absolutely stunning and made with very little effort. I had an idea to make the flower and attach it to a belly band to wrap around any gift.
I also used the leaves in the Magnolia Lane dies to make a few leaves in Old Olive and Calypso Coral card stock.
The belly band is made using a piece of card stock cut at 12 x 2″. I decorated the centre of the belly band using a piece of gold washi tape, then added my flower using some liquid glue. Absolutely stunning!
I wrapped it around a gift box that I recently made and should your gift need a little more to wrap it around then all you need to do is add another strip measuring 2″ in width and whatever length you require and glue it down to the back of the gift.
