Hi my Stampin’ Friends,
today i am sharing this beautiful hand made card that I made for my husband for Father’s Day in June. I used the Sailing Home Stamp Set and matching Smooth Sailing Dies, along with the Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper. This is a fabulous suite to make male cards. There is also co-ordinating Bakers Twine, Sail Away Trinkets and a High Seas 3D Embossing Folder. There is so much to love about this Suite of products and it is very high on my list for male gifts.
The colours included in the Designer Series Paper are Balmy Blue, Basic Black, Mossy Meadow, Night of Navy, Soft Suede and of course Whisper White.
My card base uses Night of Navy Cardstock that I cut at 11 3/4 x 6″ – scored at 5 7/8″ on the long side and folded in half. Then I added layers with the Designer Series Paper cut at 5 3/4 x 5 7/8″. A second layer was added using Balmy Blue Card stock cut at 4 3/4 x 3 1/4 and layered with another piece of Designer Series Paper cut at 4 4 /5 x 3 1/8″.
I used the Stitched Shape oval dies and cut another piece from the DSP and layered it on top with Balmy Blue. There is a piece of Soft Suede Card stock glue across the bottom part of the card which measures 6 x 1 1/2″. The sentiment “Happy Fathers Day” comes from the Geared Up Garage Stamp Set. All the other images were made using the Sailing Home Stamp Set and co-ordinating dies.
I cut two pieces of the Night of Navy Bakers Twine measuring 5 1/2″ each. I knotted them together and stuck them down on the card using glue dots. This is an extremely classy card and my husband was very impressed!
Below I also attach two photos of a card I made for my own father for Fathers Day as well as for an Uncle. I love this suite of products.
