How to create a Beautiful Bouquet on a hand made card

Hi my Stampin’ Friends,

today’s video tutorial shows how I created a beautiful bouquet on a 6 x 5 3/4″ card base. This is the perfect dimensions to create a stunning bouquet, as you do need to have a bit more space to work with. A couple of weeks ago I made some similar cards for my customer rewards programme and loved them so very much that I decided to make a larger version for my auntie’s birthday. It was just so perfect as she loves her garden and all flowers in it.

Trust me its not hard at all. The first thing to decide is the colour scheme. I loved the Merry Merlot colour so much and looked through my Stampin’ Up ink pads to see which colours would create beautiful tones and dimension.

The colours chosen are Merry Merlot, Daffodil Delight, Pool Party, Powder Pink, Garden Green and Lemon Lime Twist.

In order to create the layout on the card base in needed to choose two colours that would be included in the flowers. The card base is thick Whisper White, layered with Merry Merlot and a piece of Designer Paper that included Pool Party. I also found in my crafty stash a piece of Pool Party Shimmer Ribbon.

So that my flower bouquet would stand out I decided to cut a small piece of Whisper White card stock and used the Petal Pair Embossing Folder to create some extra texture.

The leaves and some of the flowers were die cut using the Beautiful Bouquet dies that co-ordinate perfectly with the Beautiful Bouquet Stamp Set. I am so delighted to see that this will be included in the new main Stampin’ Up! Catalogue in June. This is an absolute favourite of mine you will definitely see me feature this set for many more months to come.

As I had a few flowers and leaves left over I thought it would be a good opportunity to use them to decorate the inside of my card. I tucked them under the sentiment for which I used my stitched shapes squares die cut from Whisper White and Merry Merlot card stock. This finished the card of beautifully.

The rest of the flowers I stamped out using the Beautiful Bouquet Stamp Set and Petal Pink, Daffodil Delight and Merry Merlot Ink. Then all I did to create the bouquet was to lay it all out on a piece of spare paper and then transfer this design onto the card base, some being stuck down with liquid glue and some using Stampin’ dimensionals. I do love a bit of dimension!!

THICK Whisper White Card stock cut at 11 1/2″ x 6″ (29 x 15.2 cm) – scored on the long side at 5 3/4″ and folded in half. (14.5 cm)

Merry Merlot Card stock cut at 5 5/8″ x 5 7/8″ (14.3 cm x 14.8 cm)

Designer Series Paper cut at 5 3/8 x 5 5/8″ (13.7 x 14.2 cm)

Whisper White Cardstock cut at 4 x 2″ (10 x 5 cm) (use the Petal Pair Embossing Folder and place through the Big Shot, using the correct cutting plates).
