Hi my Stampin’ Friends,
today we are making this very unusual birthday card which has a “see through” window. This is not my idea but I was watching a video made by a lovely lady called Rose Ward of Stampersdelight.com. She had made one that was similar and I thought it was so gorgeous that I had to recreate it myself. However, in her video she was making it with cardstock that measured 11 x 8 1/2″ and we have A4 cardstock that measures 11 3/4″ x 8 1/4″. I wanted to make two from one sheet of A4 cardstock so I rescaled the measurements to suit.
I love the Birthday Cheer Stamp Set with such happy sentiments and who doesn’t love a cup cake, presents and party hats on their birthday? This Set would be great for children and adults, so very versatile.
The tent fold design stands up very well too and you can add a piece of card stock on the back to write a birthday message. Or of course, it could be for an anniversary, thank you, wedding card, anything of your choice.
I have used some Stampin’ Up Designer Papers and stamped the sentiment, cup cakes and party hats using black Memento Ink. This is perfect to then colour with marker pens and I used the Stampin’ Blends. There are so many different colours to choose from and there are shades of light and dark, so they blend together. I love these images, they look so sweet! I have made two designs and left the measurements below as I am sure you will want to make them too.
I have a video too so you can see how they go together, and given lots of tips and tricks along the way. After watching the video I would be very grateful if any of you know what I can use to get some glue off of the front of my window sheet, as I have tried everything I know. Basic Black Card stock cut at 9 3/4″ x 4 1/8″ score on the long side at 1 1/2, 7 1/4, 8 1/4 and 9 1/4″
Designer Papers cut at 5 5/8 x 4″, 4 x 1 3/8″ and 4 x 3/8″
Whisper White Card stock so you can write your message on the back cut at 5 1/2 x 3 3/4″
Window Sheet cut at 5 5/8 x 4 1/8″
