Beautiful Day Water colour Cards

Hi my Stampin’ Friends,

You may remember that last week I shared the new Brusho Crystal Colors with you, along with the Stamp Set called Beautiful Day!  So today I have made some gorgeous Cards using Water Color Card, my Aqua Painters and my Classic Stampin’ Up! Ink Pads.  I had so much fun playing with this Set and created three Cards using different techniques of using them.  I will start with my first Card which uses Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry and Emerald Envy.

All of these cards use half a Sheet of A4 Cardstock in either Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Melon Mambo.  Don’t you just love the name that Stampin’ Up have given these colours.  I am totally addicted to them and wherever I go I always refer to colours all around me in my everyday life to Stampin’ Up! colours.  Mad I know, but it totally works for me.

My first card uses half an A4 sheet of Daffodil Delight Cardstock folded in half and then I have stamped the small flower image from the Beautiful Day Stamp Set all over the front using tone on tone colour, which is of course, my Daffodil Delight Classic Ink Pad.  I then added a piece of Whisper White Cardstock to the front upon which I uses a piece of Designer Paper in Emerald Envy.

Using a piece of Stampin’ Up Water color card I white heat embossed the rose flower image.  After allowing it to dry for a few minutes I was then able to use my Stampin’ Up Aqua Painters to colour the image in using Daffodil Delight and Crushed Curry Classic Stamp Pads.  The way to achieve this is to press down on to the front of your ink pads and then open them up.  You will find you have a blob of ink in the lid.  You dip your Aqua painter into this to water colour your images.  Its so easy peasy and I love doing this, as I feel like a real artist at work.  The results make me feel so happy and pleased with myself.  A wonderful way to spend some time for myself.

After allowing a little time to dry I fussy cut it out and added it on some Stampin’ Up dimensionals to give a 3D effect to my finished Card.  I used a spare strip of cardstock from my odds and ends bin to stamp my sentiment and added it to the front of my card.  I achieved that lacy edge finish using the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch.  I was extremely pleased when I found my Stampin’ Up! Iridescent Sequin Assortment which are in three different sizes, as the smallest size fit perfectly inside the middle of my flower to look like stamens!  Genius!

I used a very similar technique on my second card using Pumpkin Pie Cardstock, but this time I used the Copper Embossing Powder for my flower and Pumpkin Pie, Powder Pink and Peekaboo Peach Inks to colour it in.  I added a strip of the copper ribbon which I pulled apart with my fingers to give that quirky detail.  It glued down perfectly using my Stampin’ Up Fast Fuse.  This time I die cut my flower using my Layering Squares Framelits dies.

The third Butterfly Card I stamped onto Stampin’ Up Shimmer Cardstock using Black Memento Ink.  This was coloured in using my Blender Pens.  I couldn’t resist using my Stampin’ Up Clear Wink of Stella to give my butterfly a sparkly glimmery effect.  My card base was Melon Mambo, layered with Whisper White, Basic Black and then my Shimmer Card.  So gorgeous and I love all three of them.
